. Was held, on November 15, 2014, the 25th Congress of Portuguese Language and Culture organized in the northeastern United States of America by the Luso-American Education Foundation (LAEF), to discuss the theme of Lusophone and Portuguese Teaching in communities. The event took place in the LAEF headquarters in Lexington, Massachusetts.
"We are in the Lusophone, and we believe that, 25 years after the first congress, it was important to join several countries that speak Portuguese and discuss together the future of the language," said the congress coordinator, Paulo Cordeiro, Lusa.
"This approach between the various fat quarter Lusophone cultures already happens in community schools, fat quarter where there are already Brazilian children and especially Cape Verde next to the Portuguese, which has not happened for a few years," said Paul Lamb.
Participated in this congress the consul of Portugal in Boston, Joseph seed, and students from community schools of Cambridge, Peabody and Sommerville, who addressed the Portuguese Language fat quarter Teaching theme in the United States - especially in Massachusetts.
Several topics were discussed at the conference in Lexington: the global reach of the Portuguese language, the use of language in a psychology approach fat quarter in the home and school environments, the future fat quarter of literature in Portuguese in the US and the multicultural approach to language between Portugal , Cape Verde and Brazil.
